Job description:

Assist the Warehouse Supervisor in managing the shipping and receiving of raw and finished materials to meet the requirements of Kaufman Containers’ customers and vendors. Support the recruitment, training, and accountability for all warehouse-related activities.

Essential Functions

  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols, fostering a secure working environment for all warehouse associates.
  • Develop and manage the pickup schedule for local vendors.
  • Accurately record product shipments into the system, including packing slips, BOL, Pro Numbers, and related documentation.
  • Verify the accuracy of incoming materials and ensure that all raw materials are effectively entered into inventory; address any discrepancies promptly.
  • Oversee the completion of assigned workloads and daily tasks for warehouse associates.
  • Assist warehouse personnel in resolving issues as necessary.
  • Generate picking tickets every two hours.
  • Produce the shipping report at the conclusion of each shift.
  • Complete maintenance and mileage documentation for all tow motors, addressing any issues that arise.
  • Ensure cycle counts are conducted for the entire warehouse 4 to 5 times annually.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other departments and personnel to provide exceptional service and response.
  • Provide support to the Warehouse Supervisor as required.
  • Serve as a backup for the Warehouse Support Desk when necessary.
  • Account for any inventory discrepancies.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices within inventory and storage areas.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Set a positive example for coworkers.

Qualifications

  • Possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Maintain a good attendance record.
  • Have experience with computers and office software.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage a team.
  • Be self-motivated, proactive, and approachable.
  • Ability to obtain a tow motor license is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is necessary.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently lift and/or carry up to 40 lbs.
  • Engage in constant bilateral simple hand grasping.
  • Maintain continuous visual focus, including near acuity, color vision, and depth perception for quality checks in printing/labeling and for maneuvering pallets on the tow motor.
  • Stand or walk for up to 8 to 10 hours.
