Job description:

Shift: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 3:30 PM until completion.
Pay Rate: $21.36 per hour (inclusive of shift differential).

Warehouse Operations at Cardinal Health plays a critical role in materials handling and product distribution within both distribution and manufacturing environments. This encompasses warehousing and fulfillment operations, transportation, inventory management, as well as demand, supply, and manufacturing planning.

Job Summary
The Associate II, Warehouse Operations, supports inbound and outbound activities under the guidance of the Warehouse Supervisor, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, productivity, and operational standards. Responsibilities include receiving products in the inbound section and shipping products in the outbound section.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Capable of bending, reaching, stooping, lifting, and standing for the duration of the shift.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable working at heights of 20-30 feet on a regular basis.
  • Previous experience with material handling equipment (PIT) is preferred.
  • Proficiency with radio frequency (RF) scanners and/or voice-to-pick systems is highly preferred.
  • Must be available for overtime with minimal notice.
  • Willingness to learn to operate material handling equipment and rotate through various warehouse areas.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for processing orders, ensuring accurate picking, quality control checks, sorting, consolidating freight, building and wrapping pallets, packing, and preparing orders for shipment.
  • Follow directions and adjust priorities while working independently or collaboratively within a team.
  • Utilize material handling equipment to pick large case items or small unit-of-measure items, placing them on designated carts.
  • Engage in cross-training across multiple warehouse areas and participate in projects as necessary.
  • Utilize the Warehouse Management System (WMS) for product check-ins and check-outs.
  • Operate material handling equipment as required, including order pickers, forklifts, reach trucks, turret trucks, pallet jacks, and walkie riders.
  • Perform housekeeping and inventory control tasks to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Address routine assignments that may require problem resolution.
  • Participate in associate meetings and relay any concerns to management.
  • Comply with safety regulations, including the use of required personal protective equipment such as steel-toed safety shoes and safety harnesses; responsible for adhering to Cardinal Health’s EHS and QRA policies and procedures.
