Position Purpose:
Under direct supervision, the Warehouse Associate is responsible for receiving inbound materials, segregating and loading paper into the shredder, performing equipment maintenance, loading and unloading vehicles, maintaining general housekeeping, and processing materials for treatment. This role also involves assembling mail-back and other product kits.

Key Job Activities:

  • Assemble mail-back and other product kits per established procedures and fulfill customer orders by picking kits and stock items from a printed pick list.
  • Efficiently pack orders for shipment to ensure optimal use of materials and safety during transit.
  • Unload, inspect, and report on the status of inbound materials.
  • Execute outbound order shipments using handheld devices.
  • Stock pick and rack locations to meet projected demand.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives (LEAN) to enhance service efficiency.
  • Unload shredded paper, media, and products from Shred-it trucks at the assigned branch nightly.
  • Reload trucks with specific equipment for the next day’s assignments.
  • Operate and maintain baling machinery at the branch.
  • Stage or load paper bales for shipment as required.
  • Conduct shredding operations in support of Shred-it’s off-site shredding program.
  • Secure plant hardware and equipment by activating security systems.
  • Operate forklifts and conduct preventative maintenance as required.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment in compliance with Shred-It and NAID standards.
  • Clean all truck compartments and cabs nightly per company guidelines.
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance on all equipment.
  • Ensure supplies are available for plant operations.
  • Strive for maximum efficiencies while adhering to safety and compliance regulations.
  • Conduct physical inventory counts.
  • Provide management with feedback on potential improvements.
  • Maintain necessary record-keeping activities.
  • Execute other duties as assigned.
  • Observe safety and security procedures, report unsafe conditions, and utilize equipment properly.
  • Demonstrate the ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and dollies, specifically in close quarters.

Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 0-1 years of experience, preferably in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
  • Proficient in operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and dollies.
  • Preferably, 6+ months of experience as a certified forklift driver with basic maintenance knowledge.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to understand and follow health and safety protocols, policies, and procedures relevant to the role.
