In this physically demanding role, you will be responsible for hand-building pallets of products for both bulk and route trucks. Each loading operation requires meticulous attention to order accuracy, ensuring that outgoing trucks are loaded correctly and incoming trucks are unloaded as necessary. Your tasks will involve utilizing an electronic order system or order sheets to build loads with a forklift and/or electronic pallet jack. Accuracy in loading and compliance with shipper/receiver documentation is crucial. A clean and safe work environment must be maintained, and you may be required to work in varying weather conditions and hours; shift durations are contingent on workload and may vary daily.

Key responsibilities include:
– Transport truck loading, which entails moving full pallets of products from the warehouse to a trailer and handling returned pallets/plastic flats.
– Bulk truck loading, which requires selecting designated packages and flavors from the warehouse, ensuring the stability of the pallet through proper stacking and shrink-wrapping for local delivery, as well as managing returned products.
– Route truck loading, where you will select designated packages and pallets according to the salespersons’ orders and manage the unloading of returned products and pallets/plastic flats.

This position demands lifting a considerable volume of product cases daily, ranging from 20 to 45 pounds, and entails continuous standing, walking, bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, and grasping.

PRIMARY JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
– Operate a power pallet jack or forklift to navigate to the picking area and build pallets/loads according to load sheets or voice pick audio equipment (when applicable).
– Mark load tickets for out-of-stock items.
– Wrap pallets upon completion of the load.
– Submit paperwork for order verification prior to loading and have trucks checked.
– Stage pallets and/or load them into trucks when ready.
– Complete partial pallets and properly store mixed pallets.
– Uphold housekeeping standards in your work area.
– Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
– Must be 18 years of age or older.

HELPFUL EXPERIENCE:
– Previous experience in a warehouse environment, including order selection, product staging, and operation of powered pallet jacks or forklifts.
– Proficiency in basic forklift operations, including maneuvering in confined spaces without damage to products.
– Familiarity with racking systems and loading/unloading pallets, optimizing storage by efficiently stacking products.
– Experience in a team-based environment, showcasing collaboration and joint problem solving.
