Job description:
This position offers a competitive hourly wage of $26.40 and involves working Monday to Friday, beginning at 3 PM. The role is labor-intensive and focuses on building pallets of products destined for bulk and route trucks. It is essential to maintain precise order accuracy when loading outgoing trucks and unloading incoming shipments. Duties include utilizing an electronic order system or order sheets to assemble loads using a forklift and/or electronic pallet jack, while ensuring compliance with shipper and receiver documentation.
Maintaining a clean and safe work environment is imperative, and employees may need to work in varying weather conditions. The duration of shifts may change daily based on workload.
Key responsibilities include:
- Transport truck loading: Moving full pallets from the warehouse onto trailers and handling returned pallets or plastic flats.
- Bulk truck loading: Selecting specific packages and flavors, stacking them securely on pallets, and ensuring proper shrink-wrapping. Most pallets will be loaded onto trailers for local delivery, along with unloading returned items.
- Route truck loading: Customizing loads based on sales orders while unloading returned products and pallets.
This role necessitates lifting numerous cases weighing between 20-45 pounds repeatedly throughout the work period, along with continuous standing, walking, bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, and grasping.
Primary Job Accountabilities:
- Operate a power pallet jack or forklift to build pallets according to load sheets or audio picking systems, if applicable.
- Mark load tickets for any out-of-stock items.
- Securely wrap finished pallets/loads.
- Submit paperwork for orders before loading and ensure trucks are inspected.
- Stage pallets for loading into trucks when ready.
- Complete and store partial pallets.
- Maintain housekeeping standards in the work area.
- Exhibit regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Helpful Experience:
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment, including order selection, product staging, and operating powered pallet jacks or forklifts.
- Proficiency in driving forklifts, including basic operational tasks.
- Familiarity with racking systems and the loading/unloading of pallets.
- Experience working effectively within a team-oriented setting.
