As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving meals in accordance with the menu, while monitoring food handling methods, meal preparation, and cleaning protocols. You will also supervise dietary aides to ensure a high standard of service.

Job Duties of a Line Cook:
- Coordinate food preparation and meal service.
- Plan and initiate cooking schedules.
- Prepare, season, and cook assigned meals, ensuring high nutritive value, flavor, color, texture, and appearance by following standardized recipes.
- Ensure appropriate portion sizes in accordance with resident dietary requirements.
- Prepare food while accommodating dietary restrictions and modifications for each resident.
- Prepare nutritional snacks for residents as directed by the Director.
- Monitor the temperature of hot and cold foods during preparation and service to ensure compliance with established standards.
- Inspect food products and supplies received, as directed by the Director of Dietary Services.
- Supervise and assist with the storage of supplies and food products.
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work areas.
- Stay knowledgeable about federal, state, and facility rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Attend in-service educational programs.
- Adhere to defined safety codes while performing all duties.
Qualifications of a Line Cook:
- A high school diploma is required.
- Experience in quantity cooking and/or long-term healthcare is preferred.
