The opportunity
Delaware North Parks and Resorts is seeking part-time Cook 3s to join our team at The Lodge at Geneva in Geneva, Ohio. In this role, you will demonstrate your culinary skills while serving as a key leader within the kitchen. Collaborating closely with management, you will be responsible for menu planning, ensuring food quality standards are met, training kitchen staff, operating kitchen equipment, adhering to health codes and sanitation regulations, and monitoring inventory levels, labor costs, and overhead expenses. What will you do?
– Assess menus and customer orders to determine the types and quantities of food to prepare, ensuring compliance with portion sizes, quality standards, departmental rules, policies, and procedures. Maintain proper food temperatures, proper storage, and the freshness and quality of all menu items while packaging products to meet specifications.
– Maintain a clean, organized, sanitized workstation, coolers, and equipment, while ensuring that kitchen and storage facilities adhere to sanitary conditions.
– Implement waste control guidelines and document all waste on the spoilage sheet.
– Carry out opening, closing, and side work duties, as well as end-of-day inventory, in accordance with established guidelines.

More about you
– A minimum of two years’ experience in a back-of-the-house food service role
– Ability to read and understand prep sheets and recipes
– Basic math skills to accurately calculate and follow recipe measurements
– High school diploma or GED is not required
– Flexibility and availability to work weekends during the day shift
– Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively with a team

Physical requirements
– Ability to lift up to 50 lbs to and from freezers and ovens, and to reach heights up to seven feet, while being able to twist, bend, and squat.
– Capability to stand and walk throughout the entire shift in moderate to high noise levels.
– Manual dexterity to chop, mix, blend, whip a variety of foods and liquids, and operate kitchen equipment.
– Exposure to variable temperatures.
