Job description:
At SSP America, our Line Cooks play a vital role in delivering exceptional culinary experiences. They are responsible for receiving food orders and preparing a variety of delectable dishes for our guests. Our Line Cooks ensure that the kitchen is efficiently organized, granting all team members easy access to products and tools throughout their shifts. With a diverse restaurant portfolio in the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport—including Chili’s, Max & Erma’s, Sora Japanese Cuisine, and Coffey Beanery—our Line Cooks thrive in a dynamic Back of House environment.

Key responsibilities include:

– Preparing, garnishing, and presenting ordered items by meticulously following recipes and practicing portion control.
– Ensuring proper and consistent setup of the kitchen/station on a daily basis.
– Effectively requisitioning and stocking all necessary food items, paper products, and condiments.
– Safely handling, storing, and rotating all products to maintain quality and compliance with health standards.
– Maintaining, cleaning, and properly breaking down machinery and equipment as needed.
– Managing stock and daily cutting and storage of perishables to preserve product integrity.
– Completing opening, ongoing, and closing checklists as required to uphold operational standards.
– Taking responsibility for the quality of products served to guests.
– Performing general and specific cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products to meet health regulations.
– Undertaking additional duties as assigned.
